Sitting here reading through our old lovey-dovey email exchanges is probably one of the unhealthiest things I’ve subjected myself to in a long while. But I can’t help it; I’m addicted to the words you wrote me when we were still Us.

I wish things were as easy as they were back then. When we both just said “fuck everything and everyone else” and decided we were going to be together against all odds. And now that we’re no longer separated by entire seas, I somehow feel like we’ve never been farther apart. It seems like I’m fooling myself into believing that eventually we’ll have our time.

I wonder if you know what you’re doing to me.

Video Blog: Stuck in Chicago for Christmas Eve

Well I’m stuck in Chicago tonight, and I’m going to catch the first flight to Boston tomorrow morning. It sucks, but I just have to deal with it. Today was just a bad day altogether; not only was my flight delayed because of the weather, but we had some technical difficulties while we wereÂ in the air. Some kind of system malfunction with the plane. It was scary, but thankfully we landed safely. I’m at the Sofitel Hotel in Chicago, and I’m cozily tucked into bed. I’m well fed, and some guy bought me a drink at the bar downstairs. I met some interesting people tonight; all people from my flight – we shared some funny stories and cracked some jokes about the poor service at the bar and the crazy happenings at both John Wayne Airport and O’Hare.

Survival Instinct

I’ve had to come out the survivor of a lot of struggles. I’ve faced things no one should have to face in a mere 21 years. I sometimes wish I could be as naive as some of my friends and family. I wish I didn’t already know the reality of the world we’re living in. I guess that’s part of the reason for my aggressive and sometimes stuck-up attitude. It’s a necessity, actually, to survive my life. I’ve had to spit in the face of anything that’s opposed me – not to come out on top, but to come out alive. It’s hard to switch gears when I’m dealing with any “normal” situation. So if I’ve ever hurt anyone with my harsh words and abrasiveness, I am truly sorry.

Yeah. Excuse the weird hair; I’d been laying down with my laptop for the last two hours and I have horrible allergies, so I’m sniffling a lot too.

Oh and I pressed pause by accident while recording, and cut myself off, so there’s a weird skip.
